Pre Sales: eBay Settings

In the Prices tab you can manage different settings related to the products’ price to be published on the marketplace, such as the VAT , marketplace commissions, and price markups.

The various options that can be activated from this panel are shown Below:

Add VAT to the price: indicate the VAT percentage, if applicable.

Add Marketplace Commissions: these commissions are calculated based on the marketplace categories. To add the VAT to these commissions, check the relevant box.

Add Paypal Commissions: in case you have activated payments through Paypal it’s strongly advised to check this option to add thecommission to the price.

Rounding: use this option to round off prices to decimal places / units.

Accept Offers: check this field to allow the buyer to make offers to purchase. Ebay will send an e-mail to the seller for each offer made.

Pricing Mark-up %: insert a percentage mark-up to add to the products in the catalog. To apply a percentage discount, enter a percentage with a negative sign (eg “-5.00”).

Fixed Price mark-up: insert a fixed mark-up to be added to the list price. To apply a fixed discount, enter an amount with a negative sign (eg “-5.00”).

IMPORTANT: all calculations are made using the catalog currency and when Sellrapido sends the data it converts into the currency of the marketplace. For this reason, fixed mark-ups must always be in the catalog currency.

Combined Discounts

In the Shipping Settings tab you can find the Set combined shipping botton.
The button is active when the combined discounts have been activated on “My eBay” which means:

– in “My eBay”> Sales settings > Selling Preferences > Postage and packaging preferences

click “Edit” to go to the “Combined Payments and Postage Discounts” panel;

– on this screen click “Edit” under the Combined payments voice, and in the popup window tick Allow buyers to send one combined payment for all items purchased and the combined payments will be activated;

– then add one or more rules for the combined payments, by clicking “Create” under Flat-rate postage rule; after entering the first rule, it will be possible to assign a name to the different rules set;

– Having activated the combined discounts on “My eBay”, the Set Combined Shipping button will be clickable.

A window will open where you can access national and international rules and settings can be changed.

Foreign shipping

To make the shipment available to foreign countries, use the appropriate function:
Click on Set Geographic Areas to select the shipment destinations.

In the window that will open:
– In the Inclusions tab, select the places (countries or areas) where you want to ship your products;
– in the Exclusions tab, select the places (countries or areas) where you DON’T want to ship your products;

As a general rule, if the country you wish to ship to can not be selected directly in the inclusions, then the only way to define shipping costs is to include the region where the country is located and to exclude all the other countries in Europe. For example, Norway is not among the inclusions, so to ship to Norway you need to put “Europe” among the inclusions and exclude all other countries.

Furthermore it is NOT possible to insert two rules that have the same set of inclusions: the first one always prevails.

The two conditions above make it impossible to diversify shipping to countries that are NOT listed among the inclusions.

For example, to have different expenses for Norway and Sweden (which are NOT among the inclusions) it is necessary to include all of Europe and to exclude Norway in “Shipping 2”, and to do the same for Sweden in “Shipping 3”; however this generates a conflict because both shipments have “Europe” among the inclusions. This is why it is NOT possible to diversify them.

It is instead possible to diversify those for Germany, France, Spain, UK, Italy because you can find these countries in inclusions.

On the Title tab, you can manage how the title is published.

You can make several changes to the title format at the top of the window:

– add one or more fields to the products title; to do so select the fields from the Fields dropdown menu and click the Insert button. In the example the title will be the product’s SKU followed by the title;

– publish the first letter of the title in capital letters.

Note: to avoid the duplicate problem on Ebay, we recommend setting the title this way

#SKU# #RequestId# #Title#

The product title will be preceded by a SKU code and a publication code; these data make it possible to publish “unique” titles and not cause duplicates.

In the Template tab, you can set up a layout containing your product information.

– The template to be used must be loaded in the box.

Nothing will be uploaded to the marketplace until Inclusion filters are defined, we suggest setting up a filter with few products first as a test.

The Filters tab is used to decide what to publish by applying Inclusion or Exclusion filters based on various parameters:
Shop category
Brand name
SKU code
EAN code
Price range
Min / Max Qty
Weight range

The products in the catalog that match the Inclusion Rules will be published.

The products in the catalog list that match the Exclusion Rules will NOT be published.

To create a new rule, use the Add button.

Choose the categories (select them from the drop-down menu), the price range, weight of products, even a particular SKU code or a brand to include or exclude.

– To filter some brands of products, insert in the same row, field Brands, the names (spaces included) separated by commas; There must be no space between the commas.

Example: canon,infinity light,zyxel

– In the example below, for “Test” catalog on eBay, ONLY the Lego-Classic category will be published. All the rest of the catalog will NOT be published.

– To view immediately how many products will be uploaded, tick Simulate Insertions  Counter in the lower part of the Settings window,  and click Confirm.
A window will open showing how many listings will be uploaded to the marketplace / credential.
In this case, 82.

– Use  Include Everything to set a filter for the entire catalog (and publish all categories).

In the Categories tab, you can view and edit the shop / catalog categories, and assign each one of them a marketplace category.

Associate marketplace categories with store categories

On the left side of the grid the list categories are displayed (up to 3 levels).

On the right hand side, by clicking on the various keys , it’s necessary to set the corresponding marketplace categories by choosing them from the list.

Each category corresponds to a percentage of marketplace fees, you can check those % in the % Sale Fee column.

You have to pay close attention and set the marketplace categories correctly, because those percentages will be applied on the product’s final price.

Click  to set the chosen category (in our example, the “Equipment” category will be used).

The marketplace category will be associated with the store category.

Set the categories on multiple lines
When setting up the marketplace categories, you can associate the same category value with multiple lines.
1) select multiple lines of categories by ticking the relative box
2) click  on one of the selected lines
3) set the category by choosing it from the tree
4) give the OK and choose “Yes” when confirmation is requested.

The same marketplace category will be set in all selected rows.

Levels of Ebay Categories
In the Categories tab, you can set how many levels of store categories to publish on Ebay.

Select from the Catalog Categories drop-down menu how many levels to publish (eg “Second Level” will publish the product under 2 levels of list / store categories).

eBay Error: You have reached your limit of store categories. – You have reached your limit of 300 store categories.

Since eBay limits the number of shop categories that can be published at 300, we do not recommend to set all the categories of the catalog up to the last level.

If just 1 level is set it will be easier to publish many products in various categories.

If the categories limit is reached, an error will appear when trying to load products.

It is therefore necessary to “empty” the category archive directly from eBay.

The correct procedure to do so is as follows:

– on “My Ebay” empty all the shop categories (“Account” -> “Manage my Shop” -> on the left side of the page, click on the link “Store Categories”, in this page select all the categories and delete them);

This step may take a long time, so you have to wait for the confirmation message!

– in SellRapido-> Settings-> Categories, set First Level (“Shop categories“), confirm the settings with Confirm.

If the catalog you want to publish has many categories, we recommend you group them up in “macro categories”  using the “Store Category 1” / 2/3 fields.

This is possible by typing the most generic categories, such as “Clothes”, grouping up all those products that belong to the same type of goods.

In the Returns tab, you can manage the return policy.

Return Time: specify the maximum number of days to return the items, selecting it from the drop down menu.
For Ebay, the return must ALWAYS be available.
In this case we set 14 days.

Return policy: enter the return instructions in the box; these will overwrite those eventually set to “My Ebay”.

Location: indicate the place from which the objects will be sent (also selecting the country from the drop-down menu).

In the General tab you can manage different settings.

– Check the Keep Relevance option to send products (out of stock) to the marketplace with zero quantity instead of closing the listings; this will allow us to maintain the relevance of the adverts.
To use this feature on eBay, log in to your eBay account first and follow the instructions at

IMPORTANT: this option does NOT work for products with variations
